Monarch Butterflies

Monarch butterfly migration Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge

There’s still time to spot Monarch butterflies at the Butterfly Garden on their yearly migration to Mexico and other parts south. Those currently making its way south are fourth-generation descendants of the Monarchs who began the journey from Mexico last spring. A dedicated team of more than 20 Friends of Eastern Neck volunteers maintains plots at the garden to help sustain Monarchs and many other species.
