Friends of Eastern Neck organizational values:
Our values guide our behaviors and are critical to our success.
Passion for Conservation: We are passionate about conservation because we love wildlife and want to protect the environment to preserve it for future generations. It is critical that we balance refuge attendance and the need to protect wildlife and the environment.
Community: We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and collaboration among our volunteers, USFWS and the communities close to Eastern Neck NWR. FOEN cannot do it alone and we will work with other organizations in win-win partnerships. Together we will be stronger and better.
Diversity: Eastern Neck NWR is located in an area rich in history and culture. FOEN membership reflects the region and is filled with a vibrant mix of people, each carrying their individual backgrounds – their unique mix of race, gender, age, religion nationality and other traits and characteristics.
Inclusivity: We have an environment in which any individual or group can be, and feels welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate and bring their full, authentic selves to their volunteer work.
Transparency: FOEN is open and honest. We disclose all relevant information so that our members, donors and volunteers can make informed decisions.
Financial prudence: We manage our finances and resources in a careful, cautious, and sensible way by making informed decisions, planning for the future, and avoiding unnecessary risks.
